Helping to Preserve Botswana's Future
Botswana is our home and we're committed to preserving its natural heritage for future generations as well as giving back to the community.
We are a 100% Botswana citizen owned and run company. Recognising our corporate responsibility, we contribute to its well-being by employing local staff to ensure that income stays in the community. We also strive to source local products to encourage the growth of small businesses.
We directly support conservation organisations who are fighting to protect vulnerable wildlife from poachers as well community organisations whose efforts work to better the lives of so many.
Giving Hope to the Rhino
Island Safaris has adopted a black rhino, Tsholofelo. Tsholofelo is a female who was born in the Okavango Delta from a mother translocated to Botswana from a high poaching area in South Africa.
We're very proud to play our small part in helping Rhino Conservation Botswana in protecting these magnificent creatures and preserving them for the future.
Rhino Conservation Botswana is working with its partners, including the governments of Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe, to help reintroduce black and white rhinos to Botswana. Over the next few years they aim to build populations of rhinos living wild and free in the Okavango Delta until they are of international importance.
Tsholofelo means “hope” in Botswana's local Setswana language, and she is indeed a symbol of hope for her species.
Travel for Impact
Island Safaris is proud to partner with Travel for Impact and give back to Botswana, our home.
Travel for Impact is a powerful, unique and dynamic social enterprise aiming to change lives by working from a grassroots level to address community identified needs, through a simple, yet effective method of giving back.
Travel for Impact reallocates funds from the tourism industry back into community initiatives. This is made possible by building lasting, symbiotic relationships with community and travel partners.
