Guest returned from a boat trip into the Okavango Delta over the moon after having a close encounter with an elephant.
Entering a channel they came face-to-face with an elephant feeding just 30m in front of them. They spent the next half an hour drifting and enjoying a special wildlife encounter, watching the half-submerged giant feeding on reeds and papyrus.
Another guest had a similar adventure on a mokoro trip into the delta recently.
A herd of elephants were having a good time playing in the channel. As it seemed they had settled in for the day the guest and his poler had to take their canoe out of the water and carry it through the bush to go around them and continue their journey.
